Shotokan karate is really a classic Japanese martial art introduced by Master Gichin Funakoshi. Shotokan is usually a weaponless technique of self defense, but it is also a great all-around conditioning program, working out 80% of the body's muscles in a mix of cardio and anaerobic exercise sessions. Additionally, it builds up mental focus and powerful spirit. The supreme objective is the growth of character.

A martial arts teachers goal is to encourage a good martial arts experience developing self-confidence, respect for other people, control, and excellence of character.

I just started training in kung fu as an extra style to help augment my current training regimen. It is a bit different than what I am use to. Especially the clothing. The uniform has these weird buttons on the front. I hear they are called frog buttons. Which is odd because they do not look like frogs LOL!

I got it from  classickungfuuniforms.com and then I got some sand bags to help me with my striking. It is suppose to help toughen up the hands. Which is important when you hit someone in the head. You do not want your fists to be broken.

I want to be abl to do it like this guy here on this kung fu training video. Then I can be like Bruce Lee - my hero!

Watching all those kung-fu and action movies really make me want to learn these techniques myself. But this year marks something different for me. I am finally
starting to take action in what I want, and around a month ago I enrolled in my first taekwondo class. It may be a for beginners program, but for me it is significant because I am taking action for the first time. I even went further than that after I recently bought some martial arts equipment which is currently set up in my spare garage and it helps inspire me to work my ass of since I
already have these equipment and it would be a waste to not use them after I had already bought them. In a way, buying the martial arts equipment was a good thing as it motivates me since I spent quite a lot of money in them which I would be paying through my credit card for a long while. I plan on taking Karate and Muay Thai classes too eventually once I am done with Taekwondo. Currently I use sparring gear from this company http://www.taekwondosupplies.org/category/tkd-foam-sparring-gear/. It works great for regular tournaments.

I don’t really plan to become a master in all of them, but I would certainly like knowledge enough to be able to practice them, so I can mix them all in the future since it is my goal to enter an MMA tournament (MMM is Mixed Martial Arts) and it is the predominant and popular form of martial arts tournament these days.  My dream might be a big one, but it is something achievable I know through hard work and patience. And since I have a good start at the moment, I plan to use this momentum to really learn all I can in the next few years. By that time, I will be ready to join these MMA tournaments and maybe try to win a few games myself.

Mixed martial arts supplies must be taken into consideration by all people who
are participating in the sport. It doesn't take a genius to say that proper
protection for the body should be the number one priority for all athletes.
Ask  some fighting tips from every person who does MMA and he will most likely teach  you first how to protect yourself instead of how to fight the opponent. Of  course, when it comes to training yourself to attack the person standing in  front of you, it pays to practice with a punching bag. In the old country, these  bags are simple sacks that are stuffed with sand or foam. In gyms, these bags  are made from the finest materials synthetically created by sporting companies. You can see some examples here of different kinds of bags and kicking shields http://www.martialartsupplies.org/supplies/targets-shields/

You will need to buy a punching bag or some other kind of kicking shiled or punching targets so you can have something to vent off all
your energy to. Without it, it will feel as if you are training for nothing.

Martial arts are widespread arts of coded performance and customs
of fighting that are practiced for a selection of reasons such as rivalry, self
protection, bodily health and strength as well as moral development.

Many  people enroll in martial arts classes where they are trained so many things. If you feel that you need to learn more moves for self defense, this is the right way to go. There are various schools that teach kids martial arts for them to grow with the skills. This allows the kids to be confident in everything they do and they cannot be scared by any thing as they can fight back. The various types of martial arts are very important as they can also provide benefits such as in health and religion among other aspects. When you enroll in martial arts classes you are advised to follow all the lessons to become fully trained.

Conventional taekwondo uniforms are colored white since it
represents the clarity of vision and neutrality of the practitioner. Some karate
institutions and schools also use other colors like red, black, blue or brown.
The color of the karate uniform is usually based on the school or tradition that
you have chosen. It is highly disrespectful to a school where you practice
karate to wear a different colored karate uniform.

Some  schools also require or advocate the wearing of mouth guards, albeit this is not  a traditional way of practicing karate. Some additional gear also includes knee  or elbow protectors and embroidery. This is usually done by parents who want to  protect their kids from getting serious physical injuries when practicing  karate. Some schools allow their students and practitioners to place their  schools patches on their karate uniforms as a sign of pride or of publicity to  allow more students to join their practice.
