Shotokan karate is really a classic Japanese martial art introduced by Master Gichin Funakoshi. Shotokan is usually a weaponless technique of self defense, but it is also a great all-around conditioning program, working out 80% of the body's muscles in a mix of cardio and anaerobic exercise sessions. Additionally, it builds up mental focus and powerful spirit. The supreme objective is the growth of character.

A martial arts teachers goal is to encourage a good martial arts experience developing self-confidence, respect for other people, control, and excellence of character.

I just started training in kung fu as an extra style to help augment my current training regimen. It is a bit different than what I am use to. Especially the clothing. The uniform has these weird buttons on the front. I hear they are called frog buttons. Which is odd because they do not look like frogs LOL!

I got it from  classickungfuuniforms.com and then I got some sand bags to help me with my striking. It is suppose to help toughen up the hands. Which is important when you hit someone in the head. You do not want your fists to be broken.

I want to be abl to do it like this guy here on this kung fu training video. Then I can be like Bruce Lee - my hero!
